Propylene
Nylon-polypropylene sutures
Polypropylene sutures made of synthetic material to converge the lips of an open wound and hold them together with thread. PROPYLEN non-absorbable surgical suture is mainly used for the retention or convergence of soft tissues even in ophthalmological procedures, in procedures on the cardiovascular and nervous system. As a material it is highly compatible with masts.
The PROPYLEN suture initially shows a minimal inflammatory reaction of the tissues followed by a gradual creation of a connective tissue capsule around it. It is not absorbed by the tissues, does not degrade and is not weakened by the action of proteolytic enzymes. Due to the fact that it is almost inactive in relation to tissues, its use is recommended in cases where the minimum possible reaction is desirable. It is highly recommended for use on wounds that are either infected or easy to infect afterwards. The PROPYLEN suture does not adhere to the tissues resulting in its easy and painless removal. The suture is usually removed within a month.
