Monsel paste – 10ml Heremco paste. MONSEL solution is a viscous solution of iron sulfate that acts as a hemostatic agent when applied to surgical sites after a biopsy or excision of a weak tissue. Monsel’s paste formulation binds to the surgical area and effectively stops bleeding.
Description
They are astringent agents, for rapid local hemostasis. In biopsies of body cavities at the depth of the skin, the time to achieve hemostasis is usually less than 20 seconds.
Monsel Fast/HEREMCO products are ready to use.
It is not necessary for the products to remain in the air to coagulate before use.
They are stored at room temperature (15o-30oC).
Ingredients: Cellulose, Ferric subsulfate Preserved with benzalkonium chloride
Instructions for use
The doctor places the fingers on the edges of the wound and stretches the skin.
He then wipes the wound with gauze.
The doctor applies Monsel Fast/HEREMCO Solution Red or Monsel Fast/HEREMCO Paste Yellow, to the wound with a cotton swab.
It continues to keep the skin taut for about 15 seconds.
Monsel Fast/HEREMCO products can be used for multiple uses, as long as a new cotton swab is used every time the doctor takes a solution or paste from the bottle, even for the same incident, to avoid contamination.
Warnings
Due to its iron content, topical application to skin or mucous membranes may result in hyperpigmentation.
