Strep A Test ALLTEST - 20pcs

Streptococcus pyogenes is a non-motor lineo-positive granule, which contains the Lancefield A group antigen that can cause serious infections, such as pharyngitis, respiratory infection, endocarditis, meningitis, postpartum sepsis, and arthritis. If left untreated, these infections can lead to serious complications, such as rheumatic fever and abscess.
Rapid diagnosis and early antibiotic treatment of group A streptococcal infection appears to be the best means to prevent medical complications and reduce the spread of the disease. The strep test is a tape for rapid examination and qualitative detection of the presence of Strep A antigen in pharyngeal swab samples, providing results within 5 minutes.
If there is insufficient streptococcal antigen A in the sample, a colored line will form in the membrane test area. The presence of this colored line indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. The appearance of a red line in the control area serves as a process check, indicating that the correct sample volume has been added and the membrane has been moistened.

Procedure:
1. Prepare the sample on the swab:
• Place a clean extraction tube in the designated area of the workstation. Add 4 drops of reagent A to the extraction tube, then add 4 drops of reagent B. Mix the solution with gentle swirling of the extraction tube.
• Immediately immerse the swab in the extraction tube. Use a circular motion to stir the mixture
• Then drain the swab into the walls of the extraction tube so that the liquid is compressed and drained as best as possible.
• Cover the extraction tube with the attached stopper (dropper). Dispose of the swab following the instructions for contaminants.
2. Remove the test from its sealed bag, and place it on a clean, flat surface. Name the test with the patient’s name. For best results, the test should be done within one hour.
3. Add 3 drops (approx. 150 mi) of extracted solution from the extraction tube (dropper) to the sample placement cavity in the test strip, area S. Avoid trapping
bubbles at the sample placement point and dropping drops of mixture into the result viewing area.
4. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. The result should be read in 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.
